Mediation Fees and Disbursements
Intake Fee - $300.00 plus HST
This fee covers the time and work involved in initial telephone attendances or meetings to describe the process, the opening of a file and preparation and delivery to the participants of the start-up package documentation and individual meetings to determine suitability for mediation. In situations where it is determined that the parties are not suitable for mediation, the intake fee will be payable immediately following the individual meetings. Otherwise, the fee will become part of the fees to be charged for all services.
Retainer - $1,500.00 plus HST
Payable on or before the first joint mediation session. Except for the intake fee, this retainer will be refundable if the parties are determined not to be suitable for mediation.
Hourly Rate
The mediator's services will be billed at the rate of $300.00 per hour plus HST. Interim accounts will be rendered following each mediation session. Services billed will include the mediator's time spent in all aspects of the mediation including intake services, review of documentation provided prior to the first joint session, preparation for each mediation session, time spent in mediation session, preparation of a memorandum following each mediation session, additional correspondence, interaction with counsel or experts as required and preparation and review of a separation or amending agreement after consensus is reached.
