Advantages
The obvious advantage is that the parties can participate from home or office, and, this can be from anywhere that Skype service is available.
Skype mediation is more efficient even than face to face mediation because no travel is required and appointments for mediation sessions are easily arranged.
Skype Mediation Across Canada
The basic principles relevant to family law vary to some degree from one common law jurisdiction to another across Canada. However, the reality is that separating couples, whatever province they are from, need to reach agreement on one or all of the same things - a parenting plan, provisions for child and spousal support and equalization of property.
New Separation - Amending Agreements
Like face to face mediation, Skype mediation works well for newly separated couples as well as for former couples needing to amend their agreements because of changed circumstances.
